- Manages
seven direct reports who ultimately manage an 1800-person
organization globally
- Responsible

Bob's Background
- Good
people person
- Strong
strategic thinker
- Works
very well across various functions and business units
- Team
oriented both within the group he manages, and outside with
others in the organization
but
- May
be "too nice" in the eyes of his peers
- Not
good under conflict
- Ineffective
in dealing with pressures and influences from outside his
group
- Sometimes
talks a better line than he acts
Bob is one of two candidates to succeed the CEO of the company.
He is highly respected by his boss and by the people he works
with. He is a consensus builder. His downfall though, may
be his lack of strength in the face of adversity. His peers
do not respect his leadership traits, and may question his
ability to run the organization, particularly if the going
gets tough. It seems that Bob would benefit from bringing
his peer group together and forging a team that could assume
leadership, utilizing the strengths that other members may
have that Bob lacks.
